Force Protection

This is a headline I recently saw:

“U.S. forces in Guam issue safety alert after Marines attacked by local gang”

Apparently some off-duty Marines and sailors were assaulted while on ‘shore leave’ downtown.  Ok… these kids have enough to deal with, without having to worry about heir safety while off duty.  Here we have young kids, serving our nation, coming under attack from citizens they are sworn to protect.  And now a few of these slime balls have been caught and are now wrapped up in the legal system.  More bullshit!

I think there is merit in cases like this to employ “force protection” measures.  We take an oath in the military to protect the Constitution from all enemies, foreign or domestic.  I consider “gang activities” as threats to our Constitution – to our American “way of life.”

So, I would have no problem deploying Seal snipers to target “gang members” in known “high threat” areas.  No need to make a big deal out of any of this – just drop a few of these pukes.  Force protection – nothing more, nothing less.  I don’t think it would be long before our sailers, soldiers or airmen would feel safe anywhere…
